In the words of Jeffrey Lewis “don’t let the record label take you out for lunch”, let them take you out for dinner instead!  Toronto is the home of our North American label so we got taken out for dinner.

They took us to a little Italian called Lil’ Baci.  The pizzas smelt and looked really good, but pizza seems to be something I end up eating a lot when I’m on tour, so I decided to avoid it.

Instead I picked one of the specials; Ontario Beef Ravioli.  I was brought up on Heinz tinned ravioli, which I know is completely different from fresh Ravioli but I’ve always had a fondness for Ravioli.

Ravioli is sometimes a bit pathetic, you’ll get served with four pieces and a tiny bit of sauce.  But this was a sizable portion and a lot of sauce.  The Ravioli contained a nice amount of meat which was very tender.  The pasta was very al dente which allowed a nice comparison of textures between the beef and the pasta.  The Ravioli was covered in a tomato sauce, which was very garlicy.  It was slightly rich but not overly.  It was a nice portion and left me contented.

Cost was about $14, which was brilliant value.

Log on tomorrow for a breakfast special, as well as a dinner review.  Two meals for the price of one!
