Food Review – Vancouver 11/04/09 by Ollie

I wasn’t that hungry in Vancouver.  I had bought a sandwich earlier in the day that had been quite filling.  The show was an early one as well, so I didn’t want to eat too much before I went on otherwise I feel bloated and I play a lot slower.

So I opted for a salad from a Falafel house round the corner from the venue called Nuba.  I went for the house salad, which comprised lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, what seemed to be pickled cabbage and pita.  The lettuce was crunchy and fresh.  The tomato was sweet with lots of flavour, the cucumber had lots of texture.  The olives were very good, they were very big and flavoursome.  Though as they weren’t pitted they had big stones in them!  The pickled cabbage was odd as it resembled cabbage was very soggy.  Perhaps it’s Canadian pickled cabbage rather than British cabbage?  The pita could have done with being toasted as it seemed to absorb all the moisture from the salad.

It was a good meal to have before an early show.  It was only $7 (CAN).

We start traveling south to warmer climes.
