When we played Harlow’s last time  we went to a place next door called Hurley’s.  The food was pretty good so we decided to go back again.

I opted for the fish of the day which was Catfish.  It was crumbed and came in a lemon and caper sauce, sauteed spinach and garlic mash potato.

img_0074When it came it was massive.  I knew straight away I wouldn’t be able to eat it all without feeling very full.  The fish was nicely crumbed, it was crispy and had a good texture.  The fish was flakey and had a lot of flavour.  Well I say that, but as I worked my way along it, it became rubbery.  It was cooked but the texture had gone horrible.  It was definitely an eatable part of the fish, perhaps they had just overcooked it.  The sauce didn’t taste of lemon or capers, it tasted very much of butter.  The spinach had been slightly overcooked so there wasn’t that much flavour.  The mash potato was nice and creamy, but there was only the vaguest hint of garlic.

I enjoyed it, there was just too much.  It cost $22 which is a lot but for the size of the dish it was pretty good value.
