Food Review – Austin 14/08/09 by Ollie

The thing with Mexican food is that it is quick and simple therefore
if you need a quick bite to eat before a show. El Sol y La Luna being
two doors down from Emo's seemed perfect. I was tempted by barbeque
but decided to give it a miss.

I had a taco and a tostado. The taco had a nice soft tortilla. The
chicken was tender with a slight smokey taste to it. The iceberg
lettuce, the bedrock of any Mexican salad, was very crispy and there
was plenty of chopped sweet tomato in it.

The tostado was again chicken. The tortilla was crispy but not so much
that it fell apart when I bit into it. There was far too much gucamole
in it, which overpowered the rest of the flavours and left me with
hands covered in gucamole.

El Sol y La Luna is a good establishment and the amount of things on
the menu was one of the biggest I've seen on tour.
